THE FIRST JAZZ BAND AT THE WHITE HOUSE by Edward Allan Faine On October 17, 1924, the Ray Miller Jazz Band accompanied vaudeville singer Al Jolson and a chorus of Broadway theatrical stars at a campaign rally for Preside
